Oldtimers have been made since 1924. Our pioneer Jochum Douwenga invented the first licorice recipes in our factory in the village of Jirnsum. Jochum’s liquorice recipes are still a source of inspiration to us.
The sugar and glucose-fructose syrup in our products come from the Netherlands. The molasses and salmiak salt in our products come from countries within Europe. The gum arabic, liquorice root extract and liquorice powder come from countries both within and outside Europe, sometimes from as far as the middle east.
It can indeed happen that the composition of the mix is uneven. In exceptional cases, it may even happen that one flavor is completely missing. The underlying (production-technical) reason is as follows: the products are poured into a vibrating feeder layer above layer before packaging. Here the different products are shaken together in the prescribed proportions. The flavours are mixed by the vibrating feeder. It can therefore happen that the mix is not completely even and that you have received an odd mix ratio in your box before they are packed. Unfortunately, it is not technically possible for us to prevent this 100%.
Oldtimers are free of gluten and cow's milk. A more detailed overview of the allergens in our products can be found in the allergen table.
All international Oldtimer products are free of animal ingredients. If you are vegan, the ‘Zoete Lievelingen’ is the only variant that is not suitable. This product contains honey.
Unfortunately that is not possible. Our liquorice makers ensure that the factory cannot be entered just like that. This is necessary to guarantee the quality and unique taste of our products.
Oldtimers is available at Dutch supermarkets, petrol stations and drugstores. You can also find them in a number of quality retailers in the Nordics and in travel retail locations.
Do you want to buy Oldtimers in large quantities? Then you can contact a local wholesaler, the Oldtimer factory is only set up to ship in pallets, and that means more than 100,000 pieces of liquorice!
There are a number of webshops that deliver our products worldwide. For example, you can purchase Oldtimers via Worldwide Holland as well as in some quality retailers in the Nordics.
